Matthieu Dos Santos

I am the Principal Investigator of the Dos Santos Lab in the Department of Developmental Biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The lab launched on September 1, 2026. I completed my PhD in Paris and carried out postdoctoral research in Eric N. Olson’s lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. We study extraordinary skeletal muscle adaptations across mammals to uncover mechanisms that may help protect muscle in disease and aging.
